A Note on Rest
Sabbath
I’m on vacation. At least I’m supposed to be.
I have been waking up early each morning, working on Natural Church Ministries devotionals and podcasts, anxiously trying to get them up on schedule and do quality work. I love it. I love the work. Meanwhile, my kids are consumed with their devices and a distance has popped into my vacation. I haven’t been present—my mind or my body always somewhere else.
This morning, during my devotional, the Holy Spirit told me I need Sabbath—a period of rest. I protested. I want to do all the things, every day. Some of you know how this goes. I have podcasts planned and content series planned and I’m just getting things going.
But God has asked me to rest—to rest and enjoy the moment with my family. And so I will.
There will be no devotionals or sermons for a couple of weeks. During this period, a few things may change a bit. That said, we’ll return August 11th with devotionals, sermons and other ministry offerings.
Thank you for your understanding and patience. We look forward to seeing you soon.
